How does synchronizing an external strong drive work?

I get a portable USB 60 G external harddrive with a program as the process to add files. My computer have very little space on it due to dl music and movies and I lately wanted to move them to the harddrive. It does something call synchronizing to move them...when it does this is, is it only copying or in actual fact moving the files? Do I need to delete the files from my laptop after putting them on the harddrive?

How does synchronizing an external strong drive work?

Be far-sighted with the sync program. IF it is set to sync automatically, afterwards you manually delete music and movies from your laptop, the program may try to delete the same notes from your USB Hard drive as well. The program will not delete anything from your laptop. You must do that manually.

IF your going the route of transferring files, then delete them off the laptop computer, you have need of to be very alert with the sync program. Sync works great if you want exact duplicate folders. In your defence, it sounds like you want everything on the USB drive, so sync'ing may not be the best alternative. Just a manual copy and blend, then a guide delete of the laptop data. You may enjoy an option for the program you are using, which give you the option to make the addition of new background from a folder without delete the stuff already on the USB hard drive. Thats what you inevitability to do. What ever the case, you should delete the laptop information manually to make sure you haven't lost anything until its copied.
i would guess you could look to see if the they are copys or not duh.
