In practice, the USB specification borders the length of a cable between full speed devices to 5 meters (a little underneath 16 feet 5 inches). For a low speed device the hinder is 3 meters (9 feet 10 inches).
50 ft max, or you requirement repeater or usb active hub surrounded by between, which give you other 50 ft.
5 meters is the max length for STP (shielded), or 3 meters for UTP (unshielded).
15ft max back the signal degrades to the point you can't use it.
