A majority mousepad provides a smooth, even surface for the ball to slither across. Some older optical mice required a special checkered-glass mousepad to properly receive the direction they be going.



Could you possibly have intended a "touch pad"? That's actually a well brought-up question. A touch wad works by detecting changes contained by capacitance in a matrix cause by you touching the pad. When you touch the wad, you change the capacitance of the things underneath and tell the chip inside to start scan the matrix. As you slide your finger across the pad, the chip will track where on earth the changes are occurring and move your cursor within the same direction as the change are moving.
mousepad lets you to point the curser which place you want on the moniter.

well i'm not genuine sure how you mean this query, but as far as I know....it sits there...on ur desk....next to ur mouse ontop of it....and it works better than the desk itself cause it provides a raise, smooth and even surface for the ball to roll over. hooray for inventions!
