How do you determine what Sound Card you own installed on your PC?
How do you determine what Sound Card you own installed on your PC?
type dxdiag within the run command follow the instructions
like its working or the pet name
in your hardware profile on your computer underneath control panel is how you'd get here and then the first name and if you use software the brand will show under properties
Right click my computer, properties, hardware, device representative. click sound, video, activity controllers and it will be listed here along with other things. if you are looking to find the actual pet name of the audio chipset with integrated audio, you'll enjoy to look on the motherboard for a chip made by realtek or another manufacturer.
There are 3 possible ways:
1. Open your cover and look and the nouns card. You may have to write down numbers and do a google scrabble on them.
2. Go to Device manager IF WINDOWS have the drivers for them. Right click my computer, select properties, click hardware tab, and click device manager. Sometimes System Information will contain adjectives information also. (Its in System Tools)
3. Third participant software will often work, such as Belarc available for free at www.majorgeeks.com
check surrounded by the device manager
