After looking at several different Windows 2000 Reinstallation information sites, this one is the best I have found for step by step instructions to how to reinstall Windows 2000. The installation process is usually fairly well-explained and is not that difficult.

The important piece to remember is to make SURE you backup adjectives your important facts, because after reinstallation recovering your data can be severely difficult and often impossible.

Download DBAN from http://dban.sourceforge.net/ Insert within to the correct drive and set bios to boot to the drive that has DBAN first. Type autonuke at the prompt and tolerate it wipe the drive. Next run fdisk and format the drive http://www.fdisk.com/fdisk/ has adjectives of the instructions for running fdisk and re-formatting your hdd. It is pretty simple process. Good Luck.
When you install the CD and boot from W2K, it will follow along, and ask you at one point to reformat the knotty drive. You do not need any software to do this initially.

But reading ahead on the Web is also a flawless idea, to hand over you a map of how it will proceed.

If you mess up, just shut down and reboot! What's it issue anyway, you are going to wipe the drive out.
