How do you know if you enjoy a PC DVD drive?

How do you know if you enjoy a PC DVD drive?

Run Belarc, cuz not adjectives machines have the words on the outside of the drive.

it should say aloud DVD on the tray ... if its a burner it should have RW on the tray ..
easiest, simpliest route is to put a DVD into teh drive and see if you can read it, if you can you have aDVD except you do not or you have a doomed to failure DVD

dougc
If you look directly at the drive it will have the formats that it supports directly printed on it.

So look at it and you should see any DVD, DVD RW, DVD R/RW or something to that effect.

If you just see disc ROM than you just hold a CD drive.

There ya stir
I agree with dze. If it's a DVD-ROM drive, it will state DVD on the front of the tray. (This type of drive can individual read DVD discs. It can't write (or burn) DVD discs.)

If it's a DVD± writer or Rewriter, it will state DVD±R or DVD±RW. (It may actually a short time ago state DVD-R/DVD+R or DVD-RW/DVD+RW, meaning that it will solely burn to either -R/+R or -RW/+RW discs. If this is the shield, you must ensure you buy the correct discs or it won't write to them.)
See it is writen on the drive forn t door as DVD rom or Combo drive means cdrw and dvd readonly
